Sam is a Managing Director at Wazee Street. He is a seasoned investment professional, with two decades of experience in public and private special situations across multiple asset classes.

Before joining Wazee Street, Sam was a founder and portfolio manager at Altalis Capital, a hedge fund focused on event and special situations investing across equity and distressed credit securities. Prior to this, Sam was a partner at Taconic Capital Advisers, a large multi-strategy hedge fund. At Taconic Sam managed significant investments across equity and distressed credit asset classes, and served as Co-Head of North American Equities. Before Taconic, Sam was a private equity investor at Vector Capital. At Vector, Sam acquired companies in the technology and business services sectors, with a focus on research-intensive turnarounds requiring significant operational involvement. Sam began his career as a corporate private equity investor in the Goldman Sachs Principal Investment Area (now Merchant Banking Division), evaluating and executing investments across a variety of industries.

Sam graduated from Yale University Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a dual degree in Electrical Engineering and Music.
